Where Have You Been?

Where Have You Been? by Rihanna

In case it hasn’t caught on yet, let me try to assist.

Rihanna’s newest single “Where Have You Been?” is the most catchy song of hers to date since “We Found Love” blew up the charts not too long ago. Her other singles did okay, but her best recipe for pop success is a catchy chorus with a pulsing dance beat. It also helps when there is a great music video to propel it!

I first heard the song when the video premiered on the Vevo app (where I watch most music videos). The video instantly grabbed me, and I had to watch it over and over again. It became my nightly ritual to watch it on my iPhone as I was trying to fall asleep. That was enough though. I then had to listen to it in every waking moment of my life. I would listen to this one song on repeat for 8+ hours at the office, driving, cooking, doing the dishes, taking a shower, and just having it play in the background of whatever I was doing. Weeks later I still love it, and I have yet to get tired of it.

For any single person out there waiting to find Mr. or Mrs. right, this dance tune is a great up-beat song to listen to without getting depressed that you may be alone forever. Instead of getting bummed out that your soul-mate has yet to find you, it brings up the notion that you can be more active in fulfilling your love life by searching for your partner, “I’ve been everywhere man, looking for you babe, looking for you babe, searching for you babe.”

Rihanna, of course, looks great in the video. It definitely has a different look and feel than her other videos and probably her best job dancing with choreography. Watch it below, and prepare to have it stuck in your head for a while.
